Gain a marketable, independently recognized certification as an accredited commissioning process provider. An examination is one requirement for receiving this certification from UW–Madison. Current certifications offered by the University of Wisconsin–Madison are:

  • CxAPSM – Accredited Commissioning Process Authority Professional (also CxP)
  • CxMSM – Accredited Commissioning Process Manager
  • CxTSSM – Accredited Commissioning Process Technical Support Provider (also CTS)
  • QCxPSM – Accredited Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (also QCP)
You may apply for more than one certification. The entry-level certification is the Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCxPSM), which is earned upon successful completion of the training and exam.

Now offered at the conclusion of the UW-BCA training course! (Please see course #K866 for details.) To obtain certification as an Accredited Commissioning Process Provider, you must complete 5 days of CxP training, complete the certification orientation/requirements training session, and pass the certification exam to qualify. Please visit http://cx.engr.wisc.edu for full details. You must complete the training prior to taking the review/exam. The required review session begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday and includes these topics:

    • NGT and Owner’s Need Workshops
    • Checklist for All Phases of Construction Delivery Process
    • Commissioning Process Plan

    • Using Technology to Reduce Costs
    • Initial and Final Commissioning Process Reports
    • EB Commissioning
    • CxP Team and Team Leader
    The examination takes place on Saturday and concludes by 11:00 a.m.
