The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development offers individuals the opportunity to gain a marketable, independently-recognized certification as a professional knowledgeable in laser welding. Two unique certifications offer recognition for their skills, through a combination of training, examination, and proof of experience.

Topics

The Laser Welding Certificate Examination is a four-hour, open-book examination covering laser welding fundamentals, beam diagnostic procedures, and relevant ISO Technical Standards for the validation of laser welding equipment and processes. The Certificate Examination consists of 120 questions. Please bring a calculator and course notebooks to the examination.

Audience

Technical professionals involved in the design, engineering, and/or management of laser welding parts, assemblies, or operations.

Earn PDH, LU, CEU

By participating in this course, you will earn 5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) and 0.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU).. Learn more about PDH, LU, CEU and state licensing boards.

Cancellation Policy If you cannot attend, please notify us by June 1, and we will refund your fee. Because this course has limited enrollment, cancellation received after this date and no-shows are subject to the full course fee of $375. You may enroll a substitute at any time before the course starts.
